graphics
Some old graphic design work. These date all the way back to high school when I went through a design phase.
owl city
In high school, as a big Owl City fan, I attempted to turn each song into a poster, using free fonts from Behance and icons from The Noun Project. These used to exist in a now-nonexistent Tumblr.
I used this project to teach myself about typography, graphic design, and GIMP. One of the funny things I remember about these is that whenever I wasn’t using some existing icon, I would make my own simple ones. But rather than use paths and shapes, I would use Unicode characters like ● and just increase font sizes to enlarge them. I used tildes to make waves, ⬢ for umbrellas, and a comma for the light reflection on an astronaut’s visor.
There are 60+ posters in the collection but most are just too embarrassingly awful to share.
jour
During university, I continued learning graphic design and incorporated it in a daily photo journal I had in –.
I really liked circles and moons.
